Growing Up.

Is this what being a grown-up is?

I'm excited about any and every discount, and try to find things super cheaply.
I sometimes think I can't afford to eat.
I signed a lease for a house.
I'm applying for internship, hoping to make real money.
I'm making decisions about what I think I want to do with the rest of my life.
I'm friends with my mom because I like her as a person, not just as a parent.
I bought new baking ware and wine glasses.
I do my own laundry.
Sometimes I wear lipstick.
I'm more interested in investing in solid wardrobe pieces than trends,
because I know my clothes will still fit next year.
I even got a pseudo adult haircut.
Yikes.

Here is my little brother, also looking grown up-ish.

Remember when we were babies!?

Here's the house! Isn't she cute?! (+Bob, the landlord)

Snow.

Snow was definitely one of those things I used to love.  I loved snow when I could skip school. I loved snow when I could cuddle up with a book and a hot mug of cocoa and just watch it flurry.  I loved snow when it meant Christmas was right around the corner!

Now it's a hassle and an illusion.

Now that I have to walk or bus everywhere I go snow is just a monster.  I don't want to have to trek out into the cold, and the busses are always late.  It also makes it really hard to force myself to go to class...
Also, for the past few years, there's been a dusting in November cutting my precious fall far too short.  Then the snow stops leaving us with a GREEN Christmas. Who wants a green Christmas?!  Not me. To make matters worse, it then dumps an extra ton of snow after the New Year and stays cold all the way until my birthday.  This weather drives me nuts.

End rant.

HAPPY FALL!

Hey! Hi! Hello!

So it has been forever since I have updated anything...
But here's a quick run down of what's been going on:

Fall is in full swing, and I'm loving it! It is definitely my favorite season, and I can't get fully into the spirit without yummy candles and some lovely harvest pumpkins and gourds.

Geeked out like a kid and went to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.
It fulfilled all of my cheesy pun needs.

Went to the SSLYBY concert the Pitt radio station held in the union. I was so thrilled to see them live, definitely one of my favorite artists this fall!

Spent some time with my awesome friends and wonderful brothers! (Look how adorable we all are)

Bought some of my fave Frenchie drank.

Renewed my passport and got a crazy weird fortune. Ya dig? Word.

ALSO (reasons why I've been MIA):
The University of Pittsburgh Musical Theatre Club production of Spamalot is coming up in a month! COME CHECK IT OUT!

Life Update: September in iPhone Photos

Hey y'all. It's school time again! This semester kicked off with a blast (literally).  These are some of the awesome fire works from the annual bonfire in celebration of the Panther football season!

Life is so insanely busy with classes and rehearsals every minute of every day! Here are a few photos of the Heinz Chapel from my day off relaxing around campus with my friend Alex.

I wish all days off included salted caramel pretzel milkshakes from Burgatory...

And a shot of my medicine cabinet for Hey Natalie Jean's Lilash giveaway!
I wish I had time and photos to share with you what all is really going on in my life...
Sorry about that friends.

Here's one last snap of Anthony and I during acting class #wecool.

Summer Update

Well it has been a few weeks full of adventure, and lots of miles racked up on the car!

For starters, the "Lambec Babes" took over PNC park for an evening.  I absolutely love these girls (and Matt :P)!

We got some cool air-brush tattoos!

Celebrated Matt's birthday!!

And ended up on TV!!

---------------------------
Tuesday, we moved my little brother into his dorm! I think he's going to have a great freshman year, and I am so glad he'll be living so close to me, I just hope he can handle city living.

Finally Friday!

It's been a such a busy week! I was fortunate to get a chance to catch up with a bunch of different friends! Lunch Monday with Tyler, milkshakes Tuesday with Erin (and a tour of her fabulous new apartment), shopping spree with Adam Wednesday (and dinner with Rich!).  Yesterday, I hit up the outlet mall with my entire family, then saw some extremely talented friends from New York perform in a local coffee shop (then we had milkshakes again... ha!) I'm seriously so in love with life right now!

shopping feet!

dinner with the boys :)

I'm going to leave you with my ten for today! Enjoy this lovely summer weekend! (Only a few more of them left!

Happy Weekend!

Hopefully you're having a wonderful start to your August!
August might be my favorite month! I love that it is still summer, but August always brings a fresh restart with a new semester!  I cannot wait to get moved back into my dorm, and start school again! (Yikes! I thought I would never say that!)

I started my August with a lovely lunch at Hello Bistro- they seriously have the best salad bar!
So yummy!

I loved spending some time relaxing on the back deck today!

Aaaand I hosted a quaint little backyard movie night. Hooray for TONS of popcorn and Wes Anderson films!  Moonrise Kingdom is still one of my absolute favorite movies, do you love Wes Anderson movies??

Hair Cut.

Hair.

One of my favorite topics.  Fortunately, I really love my natural texture, and don't often do more than a wash-and-wear look aside from special occasions (most of which is me crying over a curling iron, having failed miserably to do anything).  However, I stalk and obsess over hair tutorials and blog posts! I think one of the keys to good hair is just getting a really flattering cut and choosing a color that complements your skin.

I was desperately in need of a trim after looking through camp photos and wondering where all of my layers had gone!? (No wonder it had been so easy to keep my hair in a braid!)

As for my styleee: I have always been a bangs girl. ALWAYS. 1990s Proof:

I had a phase (a 5 year phase) of keeping my hair very short (like chin length short), but after my junior year of high school I decided to just let my hair grow and see how long it would get! 2+ years later and today I had my first proper hair cut since the decision to grow! (I'm not counting the numerous times I trimmed my bangs in the bathroom mirror, nor the botched Ellie Golding inspired undercut tragedy of 2011.)

The before and after photos:

TADA! It wasn't a very drastic cut, mainly just a trim.  I'm planning for a short hairstyle in the near future, so keep posted!  I'm also really loving the look of these bangs with a bun! (also, more selfies).

HEY!

Hi Friends!

So this isn't my first hand at blogging, however I decided to move past the days of tumblr and create a real "grown-up" blog (since I'm a real "grown-up" now).  The purpose of this blog is to document my daily life, and share with you my way of living in an earnest voice.

A bit about me:

I love the Lord, and attempt to live my life in a way that glorifies him.
I'm studying Communications & Theatre Arts at the University of Pittsburgh.
I love music, and play multiple instruments.
I enjoy crafting and painting, mainly with the purpose of personalizing my living space.
I'm often easily inspired, and I'm constantly thinking about influences to my aesthetic.

I'm an Instagram addict (I post far too many selfies-- beccasmith_ ).
I'm obsessed with Pinterest- follow me! (http://pinterest.com/beccasmith_/)

I hate coming up with things to say about myself, but I'm pretty good about answering questions! So ask away! :)
